Biography
Dr. Kyla Shea, PhD, is a Scientist I in the Diet & Chronic Disease Prevention for Healthy Aging directive at the HNRCA. Her research focuses on the role of micronutrients in age-related disease and disability. Some of her current research addresses the role of vitamin K in osteoarthritis and age-related cognitive decline. Dr. Shea is also involved in research seeking to validate the use of wearable sensors for health monitoring in older adults.
Dr. Shea has received multiple awards for her research, including the American Society of Nutrition's ELR Stokstad Award and the Haleon Consumer Healthcare Nutritional Science Award.
Dr. Shea is an Associate Professor at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, as well as a member of the American Society of Nutrition and the Gerontological Society of America. She is also on the editorial board of Current Developments in Nutrition.
