Postdoctoral Position: Neuroscience and Aging
Postdoctoral Position in Nutritional Neuroscience and Healthy Brain Aging
Location: Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, Boston, Massachusetts
Overview
The Neuroscience and Aging Team is recruiting a postdoctoral scientist. Dr. Biederer leads a nutritional neuroscience group at the HNRCA, and a group investigating synapse biology at Yale University, New Haven. We are looking to recruit a postdoc to investigate bioactive dietary compounds promoting neuronal connectivity in the aging brain. The successful candidate will work directly with Dr. Biederer. The model used for our studies are mice, focusing on ex vivo approaches, and will involve immunohistochemical analyses, biochemical studies of brain tissue, and animal handling and surgeries. The successful candidate will be trained both at Yale and the HNRCA. The research will be perfomed at the HNRCA, which offers collaborative opportunities and an infrastructure that closely align with the project.
If you are a skilled experimentalist, strongly motivated to advance nutritional neuroscience, and want to combine basic and applied research programs, we would like to read your application. Experience with handling rodents and microscopy are required. Experience with tissue culture is a plus. Please send your CV, a statement of your research interests, and contact info for three references to Thomas at thomas.biederer@yale.edu.
