Neil Huang

Neil Huang, PhD

Area of Study: Cardiovascular Nutrition

Neil Kuan-Hsun Huang is a postdoctoral scholar on the Cardiovascular Nutrition Team at the HNRCA under the supervision of Dr. Alice H. Lichtenstein. Dr. Huang’s research focus is on assessing the interplay between diet and cardiometabolic risk factors on population basis studies, specifically understanding how dietary factors alter metabolic profiling and whether the changes in nutrient biomarkers are associated with cardiometabolic risk factors.

Yu-Chi Lee

Yu-Chi Lee, PhD

Area of Study: Nutrition and Genomics

Yu-Chi Lee is a USDA-ARS postdoctoral research fellow at the HNRCA under the supervision of Dr. Chao-Qiang Lai. She received her PhD in Nutrition at Tufts University. Her current research focuses on application of machine learning methods to big data analysis and phenotype prediction aimed to promote precision nutrition. Her research interests also include roles of genetic variants and dietary factors on epigenetic mechanisms, such as microRNA expression and DNA methylation, and gene-by-environment interactions in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

Raziel Rojas-Ridriguez, PhD

Area of Study: Nutrition, Exercise Physiology & Sarcopenia

Raziel is looking at the Lifestyle Intervention in Preparation for Pregnancy (LIPP, NCT03146156) randomized clinical trial. Her research goals are (1) to determine how pre-pregnancy lifestyle intervention modifies adipose tissue lipid and glucose metabolism and (2) to examine the effects of the pregravid intervention in early pregnancy.
