Biography

Dr. Weimin Guo is Scientist III on the Nutritional Immunology Team at the HNRCA. His research focuses on nutritional immunology, obesity, vascular biology, and cancer. His recent research interest includes the impact of oat avenanthramides and fruits and vegetables on prevention of diet-induced obesity and its associated metabolic disorders such as atherosclerosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases as well as their underlying mechanisms.  Dr. Guo received his PhD from Shanghai Second Medical University and serves on the editorial boards of Medicine, BioFactors, and Blood Coagulation & Fibrinolysis. He is also a reviewer for Aging Cell, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Nutrients, among others, and has served as a peer review committee member for the American Heart Association. He received the 2018 Peer Review Awards from Publons for being one of the top 10 reviewers for Nutrients and top 1% of reviewers in the fields of molecular biology and genetics. Dr. Guo is a current member of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the American Heart Association, and the American Society for Nutrition.
